Does Medicare pay for ambulette transportation?

No, the only insurance provider that pays for wheelchair ambulette transportation is MEDICAID. If you are wheelchair bound, and a physician certifies that you require transportation in a wheelchair at the time of transport, Medicaid will pay.

If I use a cane/walker, can I go by ambulette?

You can go by ambulette any time, but you will be responsible for payment of the service. Trips originating from a private home/residence, not wheelchair covered by Medicaid- are c.o.d.

Is there a weight limit on the vehicle lifts?

Rybak & Associates installs the highest weight bearing mechanical lifts that our trucks can support. Keep in mind patient weight, wheelchair weight and driver weight all ride on the lift. The width of the lift can limit safe transportation, when trying to put an extra wide chair on a standard width lift. Rybak & Associates attempts to accommodate medically impaired clients with safety first.

Why can't you transport cartons of peritoneal dialysis fluid or other body fluid/blood products to laboratories?

Rybak & Associates ambulette vehicles are not CLIA licensed for transport of medical pathology products for testing purposes.

Why can't you take my mothers dresser, tv and boxed clothing to an assisted living facility?

Rybak & Associates ambulette vehicles are utilized for transportation of the medically impaired to medical facilities, and must comply with several regulatory agencies. Safety is foremost and there is no way to secure such items in our vehicles.

I had to wait 45 minutes for my return trip, why is that?

Our fleet of drivers negotiate our community roads congested with traffic, construction and in all weather conditions following radio dispatchng to your request We encounter delays throughout the day from clients not ready at pick up, clients with incorrect addresses or appointment times, facilities that call too early trying to shorten the wait and then the client is not ready for return when the driver arrives, all adding to the "domino affect" for the day. Our drivers are compassionate and dedicated transportation specialists who understand the pain of waiting. Give them a smile once in awhile - they deserve it!
